ideas for photos
my first idea I wanted to portray was covering the light with orange cellophane to give the effect that it was orange, But the detail didn't come up so I tried again

final render
I desided to make the background white and then use orange light to help reflect back to the colours of the models, but not over power it, so there is a contrast to the background and the models therefore making the models stand out. i wanted to make the pattern on the models stand out so I represted the basics of the patttern amd made it part of the backgroung to help the whole image link up.

first render
This is what I first played around with when I was rendering, I came to the concusion that I liked the effect of the orange, I like the warmth of colour and the effect the coulor had on the shadow, it helped defin the shadow, but the background orange was to strong so made the models blend into the background but I wanted the models to contrast and stand out from the background.

3D printing precedents
I also looked at 3d printing examples to see what other people had made with the printer, get inspiration and see what my limitations were.

I liked the idea of paper, the way that it can be formed into different shapes and give a completely different effect, they how the geometric forms in models in the way paper can be foled, it gives crisp strong bends. i alos like the may that the using of cuttiing and then layering can create a very effective pattern if exacuted well.

render
I changed to only using two balls reather then 4 as "good Design takes time" so dewsided I wouldnt have the time to well cratf four balls.

photos of development
I stated off messing the ball into 6th to create my sketch model by taking the circumference and devising it into 12.
I then used the measurement and drew on the sections and then from that I worked out the sizes of the squares I wanted it to go 12 squares around. I cut them out and placed them on to see if they would fit.
I then started to sew them together.
I sewed three lines of card together
I tried it off the ball and it kept it shape so I thought I could be a go sketch model that I could develop into the final model.
I decided to find way to find out how to join the two circles together

Developments
I tried to develop different ways I could execute my model, I thought about layering sheets, cutting out, holding with tension of string. Also I thought of different shapes I could cover it with like hexagons or quadrilaterals and stick them together, I decided on the quadrilaterals as I felt that I could easier calculate them more then the hexagon one and if I did tapering it would be hard to find the volume needed to create the hight, also tension wouldn't work as there is nothing required for it to pull back.
once find the the way I wanted to set it out I wanted to think about what could be put on it alone the lines of etching, thread and different materials, (If you read the images it shows my planing for them.)
concepts
I tried to think of different ways I could create my models, but considering layering, intercepting or sewing together. I decided to develop the one with four balls as I believed that even though it was a simple idea I could focus on the detailing and measurements of the model, I could do etching of different shapes of the sheets and different types of threads. interoperate the details on the models into my work.
